First Call

Ocala pinhooking & consignment

Let the horse
be a horse.

We buy yearlings in the fall, give them time and a proper foundation at Oak Ridge Training Center, and offer them as two-year-olds in the spring.

What we do

First Call is a pinhooking and consignment outfit owned and operated by Rodolfo Garcia, a multi-stake winning trainer with over 40 years of professional experience out of Gulftream Park. Primary business now is yearlings in, two-year-olds out. We also take outside horses for layups, breaking, sales prep, and consignment when the fit is right.

  • FallBuy at the yearling sales with a hard budget and a horseman’s eye.
  • WinterBreak, turnout, and build a foundation. No shortcuts to make a breeze work.
  • SpringPresent them at the two-year-old sales ready to go on.

The program is simple on purpose. Horses live outside. They go to the track when they are ready. They get to be horses first, athletes second. That is how a $20,000 yearling becomes a Grade 1 winner.
